What Is Microsoft Office License Agreement

SUPPORT SERVICES. Microsoft is under no obligation under this Agreement to provide support services for the Software. Any assistance provided is „as is”, „with all faults” and without warranty of any kind. (iii) Use in a virtualized environment. If you use virtualization software, including Hyper-V Client, to create one or more virtual devices on a single computer hardware system, each virtual device and the physical device will be considered a separate device for the purposes of this Agreement. This license allows you to install a single copy of the Software for use on any device authorized under the installation and use rights above, whether it is a physical or virtual device. If you wish to virtualize the software, you must purchase separate copies of the software and a separate license for each copy. Content protected by digital rights management technology or other encryption technology for full-volume hard drives may be less secure in a virtualized environment. Subject to clause (ii) above, Microsoft will only be liable for slight negligence if Microsoft breaches those important contractual obligations, the performance of which facilitates the proper performance of this Agreement, the breach of which would compromise the subject matter of this Agreement, and on which a party can constantly rely (referred to as „Cardinal Obligations”). In other cases of slight negligence, Microsoft will not be liable for slight negligence. By accepting this Agreement or using the Software, you agree to all of these Terms and consent to the transfer of certain information upon activation and use of the Software in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement described in Section 4.

If you do not agree to and comply with these Terms, you may not use the Software or its features. You may contact the manufacturer or installer of the device or your reseller if you purchased the Software directly to set the return policy and return the Software or Device for a refund or credit in accordance with this Policy. You must comply with this policy, which may require you to return the Software with the entire device on which the Software is installed for a refund or credit, if applicable. (i) Device. In this Agreement, „Device” means a computer hardware system (physical or virtual) with a storage device or mobile device on which the Software can be run. A hardware partition or blade is considered a device. 5. Authorized Software and Activation. You may only use this Software if you have an appropriate license and the Software has been properly activated with an original product key or by any other authorized method.

If you connect to the Internet while using the Software, the Software will automatically contact Microsoft or an affiliate to confirm that the Software is genuine and that the license is associated with the licensed device. Depending on your geographic location, you may also be able to activate the software manually via the Internet or by phone. In both cases, certain information is transmitted and Internet, telephone and SMS service charges may apply. Upon activation (or reactivation, which may be triggered by changes to your device components), the Software may detect that the installed instance of the Software is false or incorrectly licensed, or contains unauthorized changes. If activation fails, the software attempts to repair itself by replacing the compromised Microsoft software with genuine Microsoft software. If you have activated the Software over the Internet, you may need to reconnect to the Internet regularly when using the Software to confirm the license associated with the licensed device. And if you don`t log in again, the software may work with limited functionality. You may also receive reminders to obtain an appropriate license for the software. You should not bypass or bypass activation. Some updates, support, and other services can only be offered to users of genuine Microsoft software. Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) is a transactional license agreement for commercial, government, and academic organizations with 250 or more users/devices.

MPSA is best suited for organizations that want to obtain on-premises licenses of Microsoft software, cloud services, or both on-demand, with no enterprise-wide commitment and no multi-year subscription options under a single, non-expiring agreement. Software Assurance is optional. b. First, send a notification of the dispute. If you have a dispute and our customer service representatives are unable to resolve it, please send a notice of the dispute via the United States. Mail to manufacturer or installer, ATTN: LEGAL DEPARTMENT. If your dispute is related to Microsoft, email it to Microsoft Corporation, ATTN: CELA ARBITRATION, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399. Tell us your name, address, how to be contacted, what the problem is and what you want. A form can be found at (aka.ms/disputeform). We will do the same if we have a dispute with you. After 60 days, you or we may initiate arbitration if the dispute has not been resolved. Open License is a transaction agreement for commercial, governmental, academic, and non-profit organizations.

Software Assurance is optional. (iv) Remote access. You may access and use the software installed on the licensed device from another device using remote access technologies as long as the software installed on the licensed device is not used simultaneously by another user. Other users may access the licensed device at different times from another device using remote access technologies, but only on devices that are separately licensed to run the same or a subsequent edition of that software. i. Microsoft as a party or third party beneficiary. If Microsoft is the manufacturer of the device or if you purchased the software from a reseller, Microsoft is a party to this Agreement. Otherwise, Microsoft is not a party, but a third party beneficiary of your contract with the manufacturer or installer to resolve disputes through informal negotiations and arbitrations. You must be a licensing solution partner to sell licenses and subscriptions through the MPSA. You must also be a Microsoft Authorized Reseller for Education (AER) to sell licenses through MPSA for Academic. The Microsoft Software License Terms define the legal terms under which you may use your software. In Configuration, select the I accept the terms of this Agreement check box to enable the Next button.

(i) How it works. Activation links the use of the service/software to a specific device. Activation is required for each device that is assigned a software license. Upon activation, the software automatically contacts Microsoft or its affiliate to confirm that the license is associated with that device. Because activation is intended to identify unauthorized changes to the licensing or activation features of the Software and to prevent further unlicensed use of the Software, you may not use the Service/Software after the activation period has expired, and you may not circumvent or circumvent activation. If you have not entered a product key during the time allotted for initial activation, most of the functions of the service and software will no longer be performed. c. University Subscription. You must be a qualified education user to subscribe and use the University Edition service and software. If you want to know more about the university subscription or find out if you are a qualified education user, visit www.microsoftvolumelicensing.com/DocumentSearch.aspx? Mode=`3&DocumentTypeId=7` or contact the Microsoft subsidiary that serves your country for more information.

(vi) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to disassemble the Software, except to the extent permitted by the laws in which you live (or, if it is a corporation, where your principal place of business is located), even if this Agreement does not. In this case, you can only do what your law allows; or the Microsoft Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) is intended for service providers and ISVs who wish to license eligible Microsoft products to host software services and applications for end customers. SPLA provides the license rights to host certain Microsoft products monthly for a period of three years, as described in the Microsoft Service Provider Usage Rights (SPUR), with pricing based on usage rights. a. License. The software is licensed, not sold. .
